Aalberts advanced mechatronics is an expert in the machining, welding and cleanroom integration of vacuum chambers as large as 8 m x 4 m x 4 m, including loading and unloading chambers. machining
Products up to 8 m x 4 m x 4 m in size can be machined in a climate-controlled environment, regarding temperature and cleanliness. Tolerances, down to 0.01 mm, are checked inline and offline for highest precision. Materials include aluminium, steel, stainless steel, titanium and alloys; these can be processed in separate production areas to prevent cross-contamination.
precision welding
Welding (e-beam) is used to join ferrous (steel, stainless steel, armour steel) and non-ferrous (such as aluminium) materials for the precision assembly of large products and systems. Welding quality is safeguarded by the high skills level of the welders, the advanced (robotised) welding equipment and a strict quality management system. Welding certifications cover fusion welding of metallic materials as well as welding of armour steel.
deep-hole drilling
Drilling of deep holes, which have a depth of over 10 times the diameter, is performed using either the ELB (single flute gundrill) or the BTA (boring and trepanning association) process, depending on the type of material, hole diameter, length, etc. Holes with diameters of 2 to 250 mm and lengths of up to 9m can be drilled with high precision in steel, aluminium, titanium and various alloys.
cleanroom integration
Integration of vacuum systems relies on broad mechatronical expertise and is carried out in a cleanroom environment (ISO 5 & 7) to safeguard their cleanliness. It involves mechanical assembly, control electronics, pneumatics, cabling, high-purity piping and additional infrastructure. Large ultra-clean purification lines are available for surface cleaning.
vacuum technology
The manufacturing of vacuum parts and systems builds on the combination of machining, deep-hole drilling, welding and cleanroom assembly expertise. Helium leak tests are applied to vacuum systems (down to 10-9 bar) and residual gas analyses (RGA) are performed to validate vacuum and cleanliness specifications. Final packaging of the vacuum products is performed under cleanroom conditions.
